Motorized curtains: tracks, motors and control

A motorized curtain system has three parts: the track, the motor and the control. We size each to the curtain weight and width.

Do motorized curtains need power?

Wired motors need a power point near one end of the track, ideally concealed in the ceiling or pelmet. Rechargeable motors need charging every few months, depending on use. We check power positions at the home visit. Our motorized curtains guide covers wiring in detail.

Motorized blinds in Dubai

Motorized blinds have the motor hidden inside the roller tube or the roman blind headrail, so they look identical to manual blinds without chains or cords.

• Roller blinds. The most common motorized blind, in blackout, dim out or sunscreen fabrics.
• Roman blinds. Soft folds in curtain fabric, raised and lowered on a motorized headrail.
• Dual blinds. A sunscreen and a blackout blind on one bracket, each with its own motor.
• Groups. Several blinds across a run of windows raised together on one command.

Safe for children

With no chains or cords, motorized blinds remove a common hazard in children's rooms. This is one of the main reasons families choose them.

Smart home control and scheduling

Most motorized systems we fit can be controlled by a handheld remote, a wall switch, or an app on your phone. Many also link to common smart home hubs and voice assistants, and to whole home automation systems in villas.

Schedules are where motorization pays off in Dubai. Bedroom curtains can close before sunrise in summer. Living room blinds can lower in the afternoon to cut glare and heat, then rise at sunset. Motorized curtains Dubai price: what affects it

The price of motorized curtains depends on track length and shape, motor type, number of motors, control and smart home integration, and the curtains themselves. A double track with sheer and blackout needs two motors. Bent tracks for bays need more work.
