Some repairs, such as restitching a seam, refitting a loose leg or swapping seat foam, can be done in your home. Frame repairs, spring work and recovering need the sofa to be opened up properly, so our team collects it and returns it on the agreed date. We confirm which applies during the home visit.

Most sofas take two to three weeks from collection to return, depending on frame work and fabric availability. Armchairs and headboards are usually quicker. Upholstery is the whole craft of padding and covering furniture, including making new pieces. Reupholstery means stripping an existing piece back to the frame, repairing it, renewing foam and webbing where needed and fitting new fabric or leather. We do both, and we advise which suits your piece after inspecting the frame at a home visit.

For seats, high density foam of roughly 30 to 40 kg per cubic metre is a good standard for daily use. Higher density lasts longer but is not automatically firmer, as firmness is a separate rating. We let you sit on samples at home and choose the density and firmness that suit how you use the sofa.

It depends on the heading. Pinch pleat and wave curtains need 2 to 2.5 times the track width in fabric. Eyelet curtains need 1.5 to 2 times. Patterned fabrics need extra to match the repeat across widths. We calculate the exact metreage after measuring so you never pay for more than needed.

The fabric itself blocks close to all light. Whether the room is dark depends on fitting. Light leaks at the top, sides, centre and floor unless the track is fitted high and wide, with overlap at the centre. For the darkest result, combine blackout curtains with a blackout roller blind fitted inside the window recess.

Blackout lining is a coated fabric sewn behind any face fabric you choose, so the colour and texture are up to you. Triple weave blackout fabric has the blocking layer woven into the cloth itself, which feels softer and lighter but blocks slightly less light. We show both on the visit.

Roller blinds are better for clean, minimal windows, wet rooms and behind curtains, and for sunscreen fabrics that cut glare while keeping the view. Roman blinds are better where you want a soft, tailored fabric finish without curtains. Many homes use rollers in kitchens and bathrooms and romans in bedrooms.

A blackout fabric blocks light through the blind, but light can still pass around the edges. Fitting outside the recess with an overlap, adding side channels or pairing the blind with blackout curtains gives near total darkness. We suggest the right combination for each room at the home visit.

They are worth it for tall, wide or heavy curtains, for bedrooms where you want curtains closed before sunrise, and for rooms where blinds can lower automatically in afternoon heat. For a small window opened once a day, a manual track is usually enough. We advise window by window at the home visit.

Often, yes. If your curtains have a heading that suits a motorized track, such as wave or pinch pleat, we can fit a new motorized track and rehang them. The curtains may need new hooks or gliders. Eyelet curtains on poles cannot be motorized directly and would need remaking.

Yes. Every cushion is cut to order, so we can make any size and most shapes, including angled window seats, notched cushions that fit around posts, rounds, bolsters and long bench pads. For simple shapes you can enter measurements in the Design Studio. For complex shapes, we measure on site or work from a template.

Yes. If your covers are in good condition, we can replace the foam inside them. We cut new high density foam to the cushion shape, usually 30 to 40 kg per cubic metre for seats, and can add a fibre wrap so the cover fills out neatly. See our foam replacement page.

Solution dyed acrylic and olefin are the best choices. The colour is added to the fibre before it is spun, so it runs right through and resists UV fading. Both fabrics are also water repellent and resist mould. Printed outdoor fabrics fade much faster in Dubai sun.

Cushions made with solution dyed fabric and quick dry foam can stay outside, but they will last longer if stored or covered during the hottest summer months, sandstorms and when not in use for weeks. Shade from a pergola or umbrella slows fading. Brushing off sand regularly protects fabric and zips.

Yes. We template the sofa frame, the arms and the back to work out the right cushion sizes and shapes, then make a full set of seat and back cushions to suit. This is common with second hand frames, antique sofas and built in seating.

We fix a hidden cleat or bracket to the wall and hang the headboard on it, so it sits tight with no visible fixings. We check the wall type at the home visit, since plasterboard and block walls need different fixings. The headboard can be lifted off later for cleaning or redecorating.

Yes. Most of our headboards are made for existing beds, either wall mounted behind the bed or bolted to the bed frame using its fixing points. We measure the bed, mattress height and the wall so the headboard sits at the right height and width.

Almost any sofa with a sound frame and reasonable foam can take a tailored cover, including 2 and 3 seaters, L shaped sofas, recliners and sofa beds. We measure the sofa at your home in Dubai and pattern the cover to it. If the sofa needs repair first, we tell you before quoting the cover.
